CORE 101
CORE is in a category all of its own. No body part telegraphs Vitality more powerfully than a V-shaped six pack. My Core is a work in progress, but wait until May 2014 when I hit 6% body fat. I'll be posting the one year "before and after" pictures in May. Stay tuned. Only then will I release the CORE DVD.
The secret: it's 90% nutrition and 10% exercise. Don't even begin working out your abs until your % body fat is down considerably (ie., under 10% - there is less than an inch of belly fat when you pinch your stomach), or you will make your waist look bigger as increased muscle size in your abs pushes the fat out. Ab exercises DO NOT burn localized fat. There is no such thing as spot-reducing. Only overall body fat reduction can decrease the fat content of your viscera and abdominal wall. You need to realize that for every pound of fat showing on your abdominal wall there is about two pounds of fat lodged in your viscera. Your CORE is composed of a complex set of muscles. Study your anatomy chart to gain a better appreciation of the CORE exercises needed to hit all those layers of muscles.
The CORE DVD that will soon come out will cover in great detail the physiological, nutritional, and exercise components that go into producing a great looking six pack. To simplify: great abs are a result of Cardio work (metabolism that is sped up), clean nutrition, and muscular development. Fat is only burned in muscles, and nowhere else in the body. The more muscles one has, the greater capacity to burn fat. Here's the conundrum: in order to burn fat one needs muscle, but in order to build muscle one needs carbohydrates as fuel which may end up getting stored as fat. How to build muscle without storing fat? The good news is that it's possible to build muscle and burn fat by producing more Growth Hormone and Testosterone naturally. The CORE DVD will go for $25 and will include over 40 exercises that attack the CORE, which includes the abdominal and the lumber area. |
